Special Guests

Joelene Taylor
and her husband Kevin have been serving Journey Church, Kenosha, Wisconsin for 20 years. Born in Florida and living her teen years in Kentucky, she met Kevin at college in Missouri. Their ministry has led them north to serve churches in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin, coming to Kenosha in 1996 with their three little girls.

Joelene loves to encourage women to recognize and use their in-born and spirit-born gifts and abilities to inspire and lead others to influence the world in which they live for Jesus. She loves investing in and learning from those younger and older and believes it makes you a richer person and wiser leader. She believes nothing in life is wasted; every life is redeemable.

Joelene has always used her gifts to serve the church. She leads Journey Women, which brings Christ-centered community, builds relationships and encourages spiritual growth through the SHINE Conference, sharing stories and encouragement at Journey Women gatherings and through its online social community. She is heavily involved in the fight against human trafficking, working in Thailand and India, and initiated Hope Run Kenosha, a local anti-trafficking effort. She loves to bike, travel, spend time with family and eat pasta.

Joelene and Kevin’s three beautiful daughters, Whitney, Allison and Olivia are now married and starting families of their own―from Minnesota to Florida―and are each influencing those around them for Jesus.

Sharon Irving
is a “Millennial Renaissance Woman” -- a creative soul with an extraordinary spirit! She has developed herself as an amazing singer, songwriter, poet, actress and worship leader. In addition to this, she has a passion for racial reconciliation and social justice ---and wants to be a “voice for the voiceless” through spoken word and song.

Her first tenuous steps as an artist were shaped by the influences of her grandfather’s powerful baritone singing and eloquent sermons, and the mind blowing artistry of her father, famed jazz musician and composer, Robert Irving III. With loving encouragement from her mother and grandmother, Sharon has cultivated and shaped her own creative persona.

Sharon has been a part of the worship team at Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, Illinois for several years, has contributed songs and words of hope before thousands at liturgical and corporate events, youth conferences, including the popular “CHIC”, (‘Covenant High in Christ’), at the Angola Prison in Angola, Louisiana, and even entertained millions while a participant on Season Ten of “America’s Got Talent”, where she received the coveted “Golden Buzzer” at her first televised audition, and was chosen by America to compete in the Semi-Finals.

Over the past two years, Sharon has poured her spirit into her debut album, ‘Bennett Ave’, which will premier in 2017. “I like to blend different art forms when I’m writing songs and with this album, I’ve drawn inspiration from every genre and I mean every genre. I have a passion for shaping words and everyday phrases to melody. ‘Bennett Ave’ is an expression of my thoughts on issues of justice, love and redemption in the darkest situations.

Nancy Alcorn

Over three decades later, Mercy, under Nancy’s leadership, has seen exponential growth and impact across the globe, generating a transformative movement of hope and healing and leading thousands of women to the restoration found in Christ. An accomplished author and speaker, Nancy travels extensively, empowering audiences with practical applications of biblical truth to walk in life-long freedom. Her newest book, Ditch the Baggage, shares the key principles of freedom taught in Mercy’s residential homes and is helping people of all ages and backgrounds live life as it is supposed to be lived in Christ.

Shelene Bryan

Bianca Olthoff
is a writer and teacher in love with two men: Jesus and her husband, Matt. Bianca has been in ministry for 15 years and wholeheartedly believes that everything we do—whether we walk, talk, preach or teach, we do it all in the name of LOVE.

Bianca didn't learn to read until she was 11, but now she can't put down books. She believes in a faithful God, even when she is faithless. She loves God and is committed to speaking truth when it hurts, loving when it's hard and living life out-loud.

Bianca has her masters in Humanities, and over the last five years has spent her days advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves as the Cheif Storyteller for The A21 Campaign, and also resourcing women with leadership tools all over the globe as the Creative Director for Propel Women. She is a step-mom who loves to have dance parties with Parker, Ryen and Ricci (aka the Cutest Dog in the World).

Whether discussing topics about justice or pop culture, she is passionate about God's word and teaches around the globe about life, love and the pursuit of Jesus. She has spent the last ten years building the Church and mobilizing God's people to action alongside, Matt, the Executive Director and Pastor for Project Europe. She is excited about the publication of her first book, Play With Fire, which released on Agust 30, 2016!
